Turtlenecks no more!! Thin delicate scarves are all the rage now and you can wrap them around you neck all you want. I've even seen a few people use thick wollen scarves. It's all unisex too for the urban fashion forward male.

Is that what is in those fannypacks?!?!?!

For our hyper friends a good pair of shoes only and a nice refreshing snowbank probably fits the bill.

For this time of year, our hypo buddies might consider a multi-layered mummy wrap, with fur lined inserts for those cold hands and feet. It would keep you warm, while concealing the puffy face and that new belly roll.

Winters are cold in Iowa and I have short hair so it's turtleneck sweaters for me several months of the year. I'm having trouble being comfortable with anything touching my neck since surgery 6 months ago. I don't worry so much about fashion as comfort for whatever my body decides to feel like every day. I've got clothes for normal and some for puffy and bloated.

I would have to go for something like a mock turtleneck rather than a real turtleneck because ever since I began with my GD problem, it's been unbearable to wear a real one even when my neck is in a normal size.

Yeah I go for the mock neck too, sometimes not all but sometimes my neck feels slightly swollen when I put my head down, so a turtle neck would feel more uncomfortable , even a necklace that hits right at the thyroid level feels funny. As far as fashion, I think turtlenecks are always in style. Scarves are really in too!

Question is, will I look like an elf from the Load of the Rings, or will it just add twenty pounds? hahaha... I had a bunch of the right type of yarn so only need to buy a couple more, thus it looked like a good idea late one night.

I thought of it because when it's finished I will be trying a turtle neck once again, to see if they are comfortable yet. It's been a long time since I tried, becasue of the anything on my neck freaks me out.. I'm being strangled feeling from long ago.
I do have several long sleeved tees that go with the yarn color, though.

I love that sweater...its in my color too. Can I put an order in...lol. I never have been able to wear turtle necks...I've always felt like it squeezes my throat. I feel like Im being strangled...weird eh! I just started wearing scarves last year...I like those better...Oh by the way...I'm a fanny pack user too and I'm not packing...lol...Big Hugs...Kathy

Wow, I guess I must be wrong about the fannypack. That totally ruins my plan that if I were ever in the midst of a public shooting I would count on the nearest fanny-packer for protection..But if all they have in that fannypack are medications I better just run.

I like the looks of a really nice turtleneck. I could never wear one, even as a young teen because it just drove me nuts to have that feeling of something wrapped around my neck. Some really nice light flowy scarfs and wraps are nice now though and look fantastic.
