I am wondering if anyone has had sucess slowly reducing their meds. I would like to acheive remission this way but am unclear on how sucessful this option is. I am also wondering if anybody has had positive results with natural remedies? My endo didnt give me any options he just booked me for rai, which i cancelled. I need all the knowledge i can get before i make any decision. Am i going to regret cancelling the rai? I was at the healthfood store and said i should have my adrenal gland checked also, has anyone else had problems with that?

Hi Malbers......I went through the same thing not to long ago. Rai or not to Rai. On page 5 of these discussions ( Confused with Endo ) I asked the same question and recieved lots of help, you may want to read through it. When you get the Rai your basically trading one disease for another. Getting Rai can also make your eyes worse. I chose not to Rai, that seemed the best for me. If I have to, that option is still open to me. I felt that my thyroid is a important body part and I didnt want to kill it before I explored other ways. When its gone its gone. Good luck in your research and make the decission thats right for you not the Docs.

Thanks for the info! I read your post on pg 5 and i think you are right. the thyroid is important and its Mine. I would like to keep it, at least for now. what if there is a cure next month and i dont have a thyroid to cure? That would suck even more. I am going to try QUANTUM BIOFEEDBACK tomorrow. Maybe it will help maybe it wont. Its worth a try. Thank you dairytech, you have been more help than any doc i have seen.

Hi gals,
I've been on other mess.boards about graves and it seems once your levels have been steady for awhile, you have to reduce meds slowly, this is how you have a chance at remission.

Hi Malbers, I opted not to have RAI. It can make your eyes worse and mine are bad enough. I was on 30 mg of Methimazole in November and now I am on 10 mg. So I think that waiting is better choice for me. Good luck on your research.
