Where do these different labs get the ranges they use to determine where our results fall? I assume they are different for everyone, but the same for each individual patient each time they are drawn.
It kind of amazes me that something can be off just by a few points and still considered "normal" or "within range".

Lab ranges can be different for the same person if they went to different labs. The age and sex of the person as well as the geographical one is from can also be different.
Also getting the same test can show different ranges such as in the case with the Free T3 and the Free T4. My doctor ordered labs from a company I never even heard of with lab ranges for the Free Ts were so different.
