I'm seeing the dentist next week- cleaning and I think i may have lost a filling. I read that Novocaine should be avoided with Graves patients- any info about any precautions I should take at the dentist's office?
dentist know you have Graves' and about the medications you are taking, you should be all right.
I had an absessed tooth when my labs were at the most hyper phase. What I was told is novocane can cause a racing heart and with they heart palps from hyper thats bad. They do have other numbing medications to accomodate those that have racing hearts.
It will be fine. Also routene dental care is important for heart health. If you think your heart has been damaged the dentist will prescibe antibiotics prior to cleanings.
