thanks very much, Rose from Ontario
I take 300 mg at night. I have had kidney stones in the past, which this drug also prevents. I swear I have not had one adverse reaction to this drug. Its $4.00 per month too. You do have to drink lots of water while on this drug.
I noticed an overall difference in the 'graves" symptoms within 4 days. Night sweats eased and I slept better. Within 6 weeks the eye's were totally cold.
I just wish I would have had this drug before the GED did permanent damage, maybe it could have been avoided. My Doc has not discussed discontueing the drug and I still have 5 refills. Started "allopurinol" August 2012.
In July 2012 my optic nerve was in jeporady so my doctor gave me steroid injections and oral steroids for the GED The steroids did help the swelling and appearance, but I could feel the hot behind my eyes. I could tell it was still active until the "allopurinol" kicked in.
Please get your Dr. to prescribe it. Best to you.
