I am wheelchair bound (cerebral palsy) and I believe I am gaining weight because I am ALWAYS hungry because of being hyper and I am unable to exercise properly.
However, my plan is to see a nutritionist and come up with a plan. I'm really worried about gaining even more weight now that I'm on PTU.
I found it odd too that I'm overweight with Graves too. But, my endo told me it does happen in some cases.

Many of us with GD do have problems with certain foods. I kept a small notebook to record what I ate/drank and paid attention to which triggers got my heart rate up. These included:
Soy, excess peanuts, excess sugar, excess dairy, excess caffeine, Iodine, some seafoods but not Salmon and maybe sometimes Tuna, alcohol, Red #3 (contains Iodine), MSG, Aspartame, high Fructose Corn Syrup, etc.
What will affect me in the above may not necessarily affect you.

I do believe that exercise is very important. Katiria can you contact a gym/PT/OT that can help with exercise or possibly pool therapy??
My triggers are: Soy, High Fructose Corn Syrup (corn sugar), excess dairy, excess sugar, excess caffeine, MSG, Aspartame, Red #3, Iodine, many seafood, stress, etc.
I used a small notebook to record what I ate/drank in my early days with GD. Then I figured out what to avoid whatever got my heart rate up.
Everybody's triggers are different from one another.
