I went to my GP friday for a bum shoulder and he thinks I may be on the rise to hyper. My bp was up and so was my heart rate, so he is sending me for bloodwork. I never increased my methimazole from 10mgs to 20mgs like the endo wanted cause I was feeling great on the 10 and when i was oin the 20mgs before my arms and legs ached so bad and nothing helped. I haven't heard fromn the UAB medical caanter to find out if I got in that program yet so this afternoon I'll go for bloodwork. Here we go again!!!!!!

It's not uncommon to have hyper symptoms after a dose reduction so, please try not to worry until you see your labs.

Symptoms can be deceiving - labs don't lie.

You know, last time you posted, you said you were taking 5mg and the doctor wanted to increase it to 20mg.

If you are actually taking 10mg as you mention in this thread, please do not do anything with your dose until you get labs.

You recently said that your FT4 and FT3 were in the normal range. You've been on meds long enough that you really shouldn't be going hyper.

10mg is the high end of the most common maintenance doses....

Yes I was doing 5 but when she increased it I thought about went up to 10, but I know how I feel on 20 and I don't want to do that.

Yea, watch my diet pretty good have a slip every now and then but last month I had that bronchitis and head cold and was on a z-pak plus all the other medicine. i split my dose and even have my alarm set on my cell phone to remind me if I forget. I did my last interview with UAB today and they told me I will know if I'm accepted by Friday or Monday. I really hope i get this because it will be a whole department not just one little doctor.

OK good luck.

I have to be careful of not to take certain antibiotics as taking one made my FT3 go up.

Symptoms are deceiving...labs dont lie. I wouldnt worry about it to much at this point. We've all been fooled by our symptoms at one time or another and on more than one occasion. If you've been taking medicines its very likely you will feel and maybe even see a rise in your labs. When thats happened to me in the past...I waited until my next labs before I made a change...that was providing it wasnt way out of whack. Just hang tough...relax...the stress of worrying about it can cause problems as well. Big Hugs...Kathy
