Wow, this is moving pretty fast. The eye doctor decides that orbital decompression is needed after all. The strabismus surgeon didn't have enough "room" with the bulging and swelling? But my optic nerve is OK for now. So I got referred to an ENT surgeon, who does the decompression endoscopically and nasally, along with the eye surgeon. I'm thinking it's a few months out, but it's been scheduled for a few weeks out.

Why am I nervous? I'm not sure what my thyroid levels should be doing. ENT says it doesn't matter at all. Eye surgeon says he's only worried if they're elevated. I don't think the endo even knows surgery's scheduled. I've been hyper, hypo, hyper, most recently hypo and now I have no idea how I'm feeling, but I'd guess maybe trending up a bit with the last dose reduction, and hopefully maybe even normal, but I have no idea what normal feels like! For the last several weeks I've noticed some palpitations creeping back, hot flashes increasing, sleep harder to come by, crabby, etc. On the good side, the brain fog lifted at about week two of the dose decrease. (Last labs FT4 0.8 (.8-1.8) and FT3 2.3 (2.3-4.2), with TSH rising a bit, but endo felt that was just because of becoming hypo, not really a good thing. MMI decreased from 6.25mg/day to 3.75mg/day.) So really, shouldn't I be stable for a bit before surgery, with general anesthesia to boot? Or am I just being overly cautious? (Or, I might be having some Graves related anxiety, always a possibility. Sigh...) I think I don't know what I don't know, but I feel as if I have to keep my guard up with the doctors, especially when I get mixed messages. Even if my next labs are OK, wouldn't I want them to be OK for a bit, not just one time? Sorry for rambling.
