Hey all. I just had some blood work done today because I haven't been feeling the greatest. I've been gaining weight no matter what I do and I've been really tired. My results were a TSH of 1.64 with a range of 0.34-4.82 and my free T4 was 0.8 with a range of 0.6-1.6. I'm really hoping my doctor listens to me. I think I feel better at the higher end of the scale. I've had this for 6 years now and had RAI 5 years ago. I know what the blood tests are gonna say before they're even done. I guess that's one of the benefits, you learn to listen to your body.
What about the Free T3? Some people have low FT3 as well and benefit from taking T3 med such as Cytomel.
How much replacement med are you on?

1.1 to 1.4 perhaps 1.5.
Maybe you need to find another doctor who will dose you properly?
For many people who get an RAI now have problems with getting their doctors to medicate them properly with enough replacement med. Doctors think we feel fine any where within the range, not realizing we each have our own set points where we feel our best within the ranges.
So the problem doctors do with those with RAI is that they often under medicated whereas those with treatment of ATD are often over medicate. This means doctors prefer to keep patients in the low ranges of the FT4 just so people don't get hypER.
