I feel alright. I have good days and bad days. Seems as if its about half and half right now. I have only been on ptu going on 4 weeks now. My levels have obviously come way down since the thyroid storm. I'm just wondering what all this means.

Are you feeling depessed? Yout Ft4 is low...should be around 1.4...Ft3 looks okay but you may feel better with it a little higher.The TSH can be taken out of the picture.LOL

Now is the time to watch for low thyroid signs.Make sure your diet is good.

Now that you mention it, I have been a little down. I just attributed it to wanting to feel normal again. I feel like I'm on the brink of tears sometimes. Its crazy if this is due to my levels. Sometimes I feel like it would be easier to give then to keep trying. But really, I thought this was all due to me just bring sick and tired of being sick and tired. Prior to the thyroid storm, I was pretty active. Now I can't even go to the gym, walk around the mall, or anythunwithout having to worry my heart rate is too high. Its so frustrating. My diet is pretty good. I cut out dairy with the advice of another supporter and am pretty gluten free by choice. Thanks for the support!

It's time to look at a dose reduction for the ATD you take to get the Free T4 up to mid ranges, at least.

What about the Free t-3 isn't it still a little high guys? Maybe the beta blocker will help with that? It's near the top of the range even though your Free t-4 is getting low. What dose are you on? The frees should be closer together not high and low. I would ask what the doc says about these labs(disregard the tsh now, way too early usually to go up, it's the last thing to move) See what explanation he has. I forgot, how was the Free t-4 at the beginning? Was it high like the Free t-3?

I agree FT3 is a bit on the higher side. I don't know if Daisy has says where she feels her best at with the Free Ts? If you have Daisy, I don't remember.

I still take the teensy weensy amount of beta blocker to help me keep the FT3 at the 'right' place.

My labs were quadrapule over the range what they are now 4 weeks ago.
I see my endo Monday so will keep ya posted as to what he says.

You might balance out soon but make sure you're not overdosed anyway.Your Ft4 is low in range,you don't want it lower.Your Ft3 might take longer to come down but probably still need a B.B.

Hello everyone! My computer still isn't up and working yet so I'm blogging from my phone. I had labs again and my t4 free is 0.58 (range 0.93 to 1.71). I am obviously going way hypo. My tsh is at zero point zero zero five (range 0.450 to 4.500). I am now taking only 150mg of ptu daily in 3 divided doses. I have an appointment with my endo Monday. Any suggestions? I have been feeling pretty good. I am sometimes tired during the day and crave a nap. And every now and then, my heartrate will randomly shoot up to the mid 90's from the 60's. What would cause this? My diet has been good. Oh and I did have one dizzy random spell. Not sure what caused that. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

HI! Usually dizzyness is from being hypo and you are right now. A dose cut is needed for sure. What were you taking before, did he tell you to cut the dose now?

Yikes...!!! :-( Your FT4 is way too low. If this was my Endo, he would tell me that I needed to go off of the PTU for several days and then restart on a lowered doses.

I mentioned this to you back at the end of Sept. that you needed to start reducing then as your FT4 was below mid ranges..

Hello. The last time I posted my labs 3 weeks ago, my endo lowered me the next day from 450mg daily, divided in 3 doses to 300mg daily and told me to reduce to 150mg if I felt tired still so I did 2 days later. He did say I could go lower however didn't tell me how much lower. What do you suggest? Do you think twice daily of 50 mg would be ok? Or should I go lower but stay at 3 doses daily? Thanks so much!

Hi:

Please discuss with doctor that your FT4 is under the range and that you need to stop PTU for a few days to allow it to come back up hopefully to mid ranges. Then decide if the 50 mg of PTU twice a day will do instead of three times a day in divided doses.

You have responded very, very, well to the PTU as you went hypO quickly.
