Well, I had surgery yesterday to decompress my eyes. I am shocked by how little swelling and bruising I've had. The doc says it gets worse on day 3 and 4 so we will just have to wait and see. I sadly gained severe double vision from it though. Doc says it could go away on its own in a few days so I am crossing my fingers and praying a lot. I hope you all will do the same.
I have posted pics so anyone going through this procedure can maybe know what to expect. I had the bones on each inner eye and part of the bone below the eyes removed to allow room for my eyes to settle. I am in a lot of pain but it took away all the pressure I had which is wonderful. The surgery was done through my nose so I have a lot of nose swelling. All in all it has not been too bad. Thank you all for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Wow! I can't believe how good you look after surgery. I had the same thing done3 years ago and I was out of it for a few days. I had really bad swelling and bruising from the first day.

I am so glad everything went so well for you. You will be just fine now.

yea Marpo, the doc said I was the perfect patient and bled very little. He says its possible to bruise still but it wont be bad. I only notice how swollen my nose is. I have the stongest urge to blow my nose but I am not allowed to do that for 2 months. Did you have any facial numbness? I am numb on my upper lip and my cheek. Thought that was a little strange.

Wow cc..you look awesome. I thought it would be so much worse. Im sure you must be in some pain but you look great. I have read that the double vision after surgery is normal. It should clear up on its own. Im sure it will...take it easy and take care of yourself....its almost over for you....Kathy...ps..I would love to see more pics as you progress.

I was numb under my eyes to the top lip and my cheeks. 3 years later my top lip and under my nose still tingles. I can feel them now , I couldn't up till about a year ago. Felt like I went to the dentist . I am just use to it now. It is fading, slowly, very slowly.

I forgot. As for the nose. I still feel like I have a stufffy nose. Although I haven't had to blow my nose or ggot a runny nose since the surgery.
It helps to breath through a wet wash cloth for a few minutes and use vicks in the nose. I feel like I can't take a good breath through my nose.

thanks for the encouragement everyone :) I am starting to get really terrified because I still have the double vision. I was hoping it would go away by now. I have to return to school on the 24th. Please pray ...........

If you have to you can wear a patch over one eye. I wore one and it helped. It took a week or two for my eyes to settle. Then again in your case you may need prisims. Only your doctor can tell you that.
I actually have about five different patches to wear. Depends on my mood. I made them myself. I wore them after this last eye surgery too. Didn't want to scare the grandkids.
