I'm sure you know that Big Pharma directly or indirectly funds most studies.

There's no money to be made with studies on thyroid disease when all the treatments involve meds that are available in generic versions.

Big Pharma makes more money creating/selling meds for the countless diseases and conditions caused by improperly treated thyroid disease.

It seems like thyroid patients are often going upstream without paddles.

The first few words in the summary tell all: "Although our professional organizations...."

Doctors that follow the advice of professional organizations are the ones that provide the least adequate care.

thanks, cd for your perspective. I hope that the professional organizations will change their tune if new clinical studies find that the exceptions to their rule are more widespread than they think.

As for big Pharma, you'ld think they would welcome an opportunity to have more people buy their drugs, if they had lower-dose options and that more people could benefit from such an approach.
