Hello All,
Looking for answers I guess. A little history here for me: Diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2004, I was having alot of pain all over and a flu like feeling with zero energy everyday. DDD and back problems from a young age due to tail bone injury. I researched and did what I could and continued with good and bad days for years. Along comes fall of 2011, I had been feeling increasingly strange as summer wore on. Had alot of extra stress at that time also with an Aunt facing liver cancer and two elderly grandparents I was main caregiver for.
Finally went to ER and was admitted to ICU with very high sugar levels and ketoacidosis, they also found grave's disease at this time. A nurse at endo said this was all autoimmune related. I had the RAI 2/12 and take generic synthroid at 100mcg a day. Fast forward to today, all my tsh and t3 and t4 levels are in normal range so they say.
This summer I have begun feeling worse as I could just sleep constantly and more joint pain especially in knees.
TED with constant watering and right eye bulging. Also feel like alot of fluid throughout my head and body. Occasional pain in back of skull.
My guestion being, resent blood test by rhuemy shows high cprotein and sed rate, wondering if this could be due to this bubble feeling in my head and ears. PMC ordered CT scan for 8/5 to check for mastoiditis or infection I guess. What gets me is he didn't even look in my ears, no RBC or WBC ordered with any of these tests and antibody tests came back negative.
Is CT scan without contrast dangerous for thyroid? Sorry probably way too long here and not making alot of sense. Just looking for answers and wondered if this has happened to anyone else? So tired of the doctors who don't offer anything but prescriptions and less than 15 mins of their precious time.

Make sure the doctor is ordering the Free T3 and the Free T4 tests (not T3 and T4) and that you would want to keep these at the upper third ranges to feel your best there at. It sounds from your symptoms (the eyes, joints and sleeping a lot) are hypO symptoms.
If your Free T3 is too low for your body's needs, maybe taking Cytomel (which raises the T3) may be beneficial for you. You will need to discuss with the doctor.
I feel poorly when my FT3 is too low and I get joint pain along with the muscular aches and pains, etc.. My thyroid swells a bit, and the C R Protein goes up as well as SED rate.
