Make sure the doctor is ordering the Free T3 and the Free T4 tests (not T3 and T4) and that you would want to keep these at the upper third ranges to feel your best there at. It sounds from your symptoms (the eyes, joints and sleeping a lot) are hypO symptoms.
If your Free T3 is too low for your body's needs, maybe taking Cytomel (which raises the T3) may be beneficial for you. You will need to discuss with the doctor.
I feel poorly when my FT3 is too low and I get joint pain along with the muscular aches and pains, etc.. My thyroid swells a bit, and the C R Protein goes up as well as SED rate.
