Graves' Disease Support Group
Graves-Basedow disease is a medical disorder that may manifest several different conditions including hyperthyroidism (over activity of thyroid hormone production), infiltrative exophthalmos (protruberance of one or both eyes and associated problems) and infiltrative dermopathy (a skin condition usually of the lower extremities). This disorder is the most common cause of...
The thyroid levels of the Free T3 and the Free T4 not being in the 'right' places can cause double vision. This happened to me in my early days of Graves' Disease back in 2002. Once the Free Ts were corrected (by meds) my eyes were in a better place.

Some people do have issues from the high thyroid antibodies of the TSI and continue with eye problems.

My father had major issues with his eyes from Graves Disease. It is GREAT that your doctors diagnosed it immediately. My father’s doctors did not know what was going on (this happened 30 years ago) and thought it was allergies. Until the eye issues became worse and he had to have surgeries and eyeglasses with prisms.
If I may ask - do you smoke? IF you do - STOP! It makes the GD eye issues worse. Personally, I had found that sugar has an impact on eyesight, too. My vision would become blurry when I consumed sugar. (Processed sugar from bakery goods - bread, cookies, cake; candy; converted sugar from foods with carbs - pasta; alcohol) You might want to consider changing your diet because THAT has an impact on GD (auto-immune disease) which has an impact on your thyroid. Also, please be aware that ablation of the thyroid (one of the 3 choices that doctors offer to treat GD) would not be a good idea because this will have an impact on your eyesight, as well. I hope this information is helpful. Take Care.
Stress is a trigger for GD along with anything in the diet that includes artificial sweeteners, Cigarette/cigar/vaping smoke, MSG, Iodine, Soy, Chemicals, toxins, preservatives, etc.
Alcohol is one of the triggers for me, I get hypER.
In my early stage of GD (over 15 years ago) I kept a small notebook to record what I consumed and what vitamins/supplements were taken to see the triggers. I found plenty and worked to avoid. My heart rate would go up and I'd get hypER.
I also had to go 'green' with the household cleaners and personal products with less chemicals and such to make things more calmed for me.

What do you think?? Worth a try to quit Lipitor or not??
I don't take Liptor, but my husband does. His thyroid tends to be low normal that I have seen on his labs.
I have been reading and researching in the last few months that people on Liptor or other cholesterol lowering meds as well as people with their thyroid levels off whether as in hypOthyroid or hypERthyroid needs to supplement with a good quality Ubiqunol CoQ10 which my husband is on. I am finally getting more to take as well as diet isn't enough, unless I want to consume organ meats.
I recommend asking the pharmacist if Liptor can cause thyroid levels to rise. The articles I have read says it only has an affect on those with low thyroid levels.

That aside, are there any tricks for insomnia? I have had off and on for years but now worse.
