Hi, everyone, it's been awhile since my last post. Long story short: I was diagnosed with Graves just after the birth of my second son 4 years ago. I went on MMI and was able to get off of it after 18months. I've been med free with normal labs for almost 3 years, but now I'm pregnant again and have read some pretty terrifying stuff. Has anyone experienced this, or heard of this? and if so, what was the outcome? Can a baby be born normal and healthy in to a mom with Graves? please help.

Hi:

I am sorry you are having issues. GD does come back when pregnant or because of the hormones that the thyroid antibodies probably start up again.

The need to get the TSI down as low as possible would be ideal.

I would research the articles at Elaine Moore's site and also ask her questions.

I have a sweet, little 8 month old that is healthy! I was fortunate and had been in remission before, during, and so far after my pregnancy. Some of the information can be scary- I hear you- but just take it a day at a time :)

Thank you so much, that is what I needed to hear. Courage, I'm so glad to know that you stayed in remission before, during, and after. I am praying to God that I can do the same. That's very encouraging.
