Finally! My t-3! How do labs look?

I finally tricked my endo into testing T-3. I had RAI so I'm not sure if my levels are good or bad!

T4 is 1.1 reference range 0.8 to 1.5
T3 is 1.84 reference range is 2.18 to 3.98
TSH is 0.919 reference range is 0.358 to 3.740

The note attached said t3 is not a useful guide to my synthroid therapy. What to do???

Is this your FT3? If so...you are very low and in need of a T3 replacement like Cytomel or a natural T4 T3 supplement. Your FT3 should be mid range or slightly higher...for you...that should be around 3.10 So you can see how low you are.

Sorry..pushed the button to soon. Also...your FT4 is a bit low still...you are at mid range and the goal is for our FT4 to be in the upper half of our ranges..for you that would be at around 1.3 or even 1.4 depending on how you feel.

Thank you so much Kathy! How would I get a doctor to agree to giving me this?? They all claim I don't need it, but my eyes are acting up

You may have to find a new doc. I too had problems with my Endo and my GP took over. Others here have also had this problem...perhaps they will chime in and give advise on other avenues. What some people have done is talked with there pharmacist to find out who prescribes Armour...that will give you a starting place.

Yes...being hypo will effect your eyes greatly...having a low FT3 will give you all the symptoms of hypo. Since you no longer have a functioning thyroid its really important to have your FT4 and FT3 balanced...Hugs....I know how much this sucks...Kathy
