Hi I'm 28 years old and got diagnosed with Graves right after a miscarriage last may, which was set off by a doctor telling me I had an under active thyroid and putting me on synthroid. I tried propranolol and after a while of being on it, I couldn't move my left arm until I stopped taking the medication. I got the radiation recently but still have all the symptoms. I've tried a stress ball for my tremors (helps a bit), I've tried staying busy and I can't shut my brain off or turn the anxiety off. Has anyone had any success with ways of coping and dealing with the emotional roller coaster it feels like I'm on this last year?
Knowing what the thyroid levels of the Free T3 and the Free T4 are doing helps to keep things balanced. For many of us, the Free T3 needs to be at mid range and the Free T4 at the mid to the upper third range. This will mean doing blood work for the thyroid every 6 to 8 weeks to know how much replacement med to take to be as symptoms free as possible.
