Why is it that doctors, especially endos, seem to hate it when we tell them what we read on the boards from REAL patients? My endo goes nuts every time I find something that might actually help me if he would just read it and keep an open mind.
He's not fond of health sites in general either... even Mayo Clinic. They just don't seem to want to do any research or think for themselves.
I've gotten so much good advice form these boards and I try to get him to at least read this stuff. He calls us a bunch of whiny complainers. I'd change doctors, but we live in a small town, go to a small city for treatment, and our options are limited.

Too bad you live in a small town, otherwise I would say definitely look for another doctor.
We 'whiny complainers' are this way because many of these doctors just don't know how to treat us and medicate us properly. If they would just learn to do this and order the correct tests and medicate us correctly, we wouldn't be needing thyroid forums.

I can not tell you how many things were missed by my docs that i found on my own through " self diagnosing". One of these " missed " things almost cost me my life.
