Graves' Disease Support Group
Graves-Basedow disease is a medical disorder that may manifest several different conditions including hyperthyroidism (over activity of thyroid hormone production), infiltrative exophthalmos (protruberance of one or both eyes and associated problems) and infiltrative dermopathy (a skin condition usually of the lower extremities). Most people with thyroid disease do have nodules. So if your TSI is positive, it really is not necessary to go for a radioactive scan.
Good luck and {{{hugs}}} :-(

Give them a chance girl, it might turn out good. And since I am not Grave's either anymore, I can also talk to you from my window frame, which also agrees with Brans, you might have Hashi's or Hashitoxicosis.
I went to see my new endo in Seattle this weekend and he was very very awesome. I will not hijack this post but longstory short: Last year I was diagnosed with Grave's and this doc explained me exactly how and why he thinks I have HAshimoto's/HAshitoxicosis, a very unstable form. He sees only 5 patients per year like me and thyroid is ALL he does. I am telling you this not to make you think you migh have Hashi's but just to keep your mind open for possible other options.
Certain things like splitting your dose might be very useful and even common sense but it is not detrimental for good care if a doctor is not familiar with this practice.
You are not feeling great, not have been for a long time, and I understand the urge to feel better, believe me. But the tests they have ordered are not that odd, I think so why not give it a little time and just see what they come up with. It is free care and as long as they are not taking your thyroid out or radiating you untill you glow, you might want to keep your might open and give it a chance.
Hey, BTW, did you meet my cabana boy (Juan Marco) by the entrance of the hospital? He was new in my collection so I still need a bit of feedback on his skills .... you know, back rubs, drink mixing, looks, and overall level of support and service.
I am sure you are looking ten years younger at the moment since your new beauty regiment kicked in. The mayo in your hair, oatmeal on your face, paprika for blush on the cheekbones and what ever else made it from your pantry into your shower bag. Juan Marco might not have recognized you ...
Keep smiling girl, there is hope, always!
