P.S. Congrats on your one year anniversary.

FT3.................3.1 range...........3.5-6.5
FT4..............22.0 range............7.5-22.0
Its def strange to actually feel tempetures again. I get cold in the winter and even in the summer feel a chill. I did notice what ur talking about when my levels were too lo for me the freezing up and cramping i would even get it in my feet and toes
((Hugs))
Your Free T3 is below range. This likely will explain the symptoms you describe. I know it does for me with my lower than normal Free T3.
Check your Free T4 it is higher than normal almost out of the high range.
Work on adjusting your replacement med to get the Free Ts at miod range. If it is possible with where you live to switch to Armour instead? Armour will work on both Free T3 and Free T4. The replacement med you are on will work on Free T4 only.

Maybe its just all the extra stress right now and when things calm down then my new symptom will go away ; )
Taking a beta blocker will lower down the Free T3 even further. This is not what I am sure you want since your FT3 is below normal.

There is a great yahoo group called thyroidless@yahoogroups.com
Great advice there, as well as here.
Its Selenium that helps convert T4 to T3...you may want to think about that but Im thinking a bit lower amount of T4 replacement and adding a T3 replacement may be what you need. When I did my research into this I decided on Cytomel if I needed it. The reason was because you have greater control over the amount taken and it would be easier to find the right amount for my needs. Im now on 62.5 mcg of Synthroid and Im feeling pretty good but it took a while to find that right amount...so....Im thinking it wouldnt matter what replacement I choose...it still takes time to find the right amount...there isnt any quick fixes. Hang in there Malbers...its really good to hear from you...Big Hugs...Kathy
I gave up taking the selenium after my TT cuz I didnt think I needed it anymore. I am not having any hyper symptoms so I dont think the FT4 is too high. My weight is stable, well if I didnt quit smoking twice in the last year I would have stayed the same. Four months some free again!! Maybe this time I can make it past 7 months, I havent yet but this time is the last time I ever quit!!
Could I just add the cytomel instead of lowering the levo and adding cytomel. Keeping the FT4 high is part of my cancer treatment. Sorry, I dont have alot to add in the conversations anymore, I still read faithfully!!! Hugs back at you !!! Marci
Hang in there Malbers...perhaps think about taking 200mcg of Selenium and see if that makes a difference. You would have to give it about 6 weeks to show a difference on your labs though. Big Hugs...Kathy
