Could I be hyper from replacements already?

As you all know I had a TT on Thursday, the first four days I felt really good. Yesterday I started feeling off shall I say, about an hour after taking my synthroid. My hands and feet are sweating on and off, I feel extremely weak in the legs and my skin is kinda crawling like I could just rip it all off. Altho I am taking 6-500mg calcium and should be a bit bunged up, I am not. In fact its opposite. I am currently taking 150mcgs of synthroid. Is it too soon to be hyper. My last blood work in may showed FT4 was 26.9 range 7.5-21.5 and I hadnt been taking any ATDs since march.

Hi:

Shouldn't the Synthroid be taken if the Free T4 is very low and not when it is high? Your last FT4 is high. Was the lab results before the TT or after the TT? If that's the case, maybe you are not quite ready to take replacement meds?

My last bloodwork was in may. They never did FTs before surgery only TSH and parathyroid and calcium. When I do go for new bloodwork the surgeon is only testing TSH....ugggh here we go again. I will maybe phone my gp and get her to do a new set of FTs. I really think I am hyper!!!

mmz is right...your synthroid is dosed by your FT4. If you still have a hight FT4 you shouldnt be on hormone replacement yet. But this last blood test was done before your TT. I would get another blood test asap.You dont want to go hyper! From what I have read it only takes a few days of being on hormone replacement for it to show. Remember T4 stays in your system for 7 days before it converts out. You may still have residue T4 and then adding the replacement is making you hyper. I would push for a new blood test today! Yes definitely as diary says. Get the Free T3 and the Free T4 done together with the TSH now to see where you are at. I've the feeling you may not have been ready for Synthroid yet or you are on the wrong doses.

Right, it sounds like the FT4 is still high and even though you had the TT done you still have too much Ft4 in your system still circulating around. Yes, get the FT4 done and T3 if they'll do it. It could be going from high hormones to a drop is making you feel ill too, if it dropped all of a sudden.

I thank you all for you concern!! You three ladies have been a wonderful support for me and always there when I have an issue!! I am feeling quite well again today :) it is day seven so maybe my natural FT4 has all left the building .lol I hope I continue to feel as good as I have today. Last day of school for my kids so I will have 3 mother hens watching over me. Again Thanks.
