Thought it might be interesting to hear your responses to conversation I had today with my Endo regarding the continued numbness/tingling of
the hands - primarily at night.
I called her to as we had agreed after 1 week on a reduced dosage of 2.5 per day of the MMI and I was to give her an update on how things were going. I told here that the numbness, etc was still there but I have been sleeping better. No, I didn't mention to her that usually the first week of a med change I feel like sleeping around the clock....:)) However, I did offer
the suggestion that perhaps we are dealing with Carpal Tunnel and not a side affect of the MMI at all. She told me there were tests, etc we could do to make sure, etc. I told her I know you don't like it when people search for their own information but I did find that CT and autoimmune disease do go together somewhat - as per Pam and Brans suggestions - she was very quick to say but that is in Hypo thyroid and you are not hypo. I agreed with her, and asked her - is it not possible with the quick drop in the FT4 over the course of the past 8 weeks that my
body considers it hypo? (Went from 2.7 to start to 1.21 in 4 weeks to .74 at 8 weeks.) Since it started 2 weeks after take the MMI and
I was well within normal and actually below mid range at 4 weeks and have kept dropping since? She was not willing to go with my theory and said we'll have to see what the blood tests are on Friday. I also told her
we haven't found my "sweet" spot yet since we haven't stayed any where long enough to see how I feel and just maybe my body will be closer to the upper level then the mid range in order to get rid of the numbness?
Again, she wasn't willing to give an inch which I thought was interesting.
If I hadn't mentioned hypo, I don' t think she would have put it together at all. I realize that I am a prime candidate for CT with my job at a computer,
and office work for 40 yrs.....:))) But it never showed at all until I started
taking meds..... So, do I stick to my guns and get the levels above 1.3 which I think was mid range???

if it doesn't subside. It's certainly not going to hurt to try - worse case
is we bring the levels down again....:)))Ah, the wonderful world of medicine.....Gotta laugh!!
the new labs say - am on vacation next week and won't be near a computer but will post when I get home. Ought to be interesting....
