This is my second time around with Graves. I remember with my first bout, 15 years ago, when I was taking Tapz pills, I was okay to take cold remedies in moderation.
However, when I went into remission, I was told to be very careful and avoid cough syrup unless I absolutely had to, and definatley no to nasal spray. Infact the only nasal spray that I did use was the saline type which is just salt water. This was to avoid coming out of remission and getting Graves again. There was never an issue with throat losanges, but I think if it is for cough suppressant, I would stay away from it.

I just avoid and do not take any meds for them except maybe something like plain Aleve. Then I look for the 'safe' vitamins/supplements that I can take without these revving up my system.
