Hi everyone! I just got home from seeing my endo and he said if at the end of this month my levels remain normal he will take me off tapazol completley! I am thrilled that I may be in remission but nervous as well. Have any of you been taken off thyroid meds only to have your levels get bad again? If this works out I will be off thyroid meds by march 1st and off steroids by April 20th...wow I cant imagine life without popping pills every morning! I never thought I'd see the day :)

Hi cc9393...That is great news. I am so happy for you. Its nice to get good news for a change. Im curious though..what are normal levels? Does this mean your t4 and t3 are normal levels? If so, what are they? Is your TSH levels normal as well and have your eyes gotten better or just not gotten worse? I get the results of my blood work on Wed. and would like some reference of comparison. Im a little confused about what normal levels are especially with the TSH. Im praying that your levels remain good

Great news! Thank you so much for sharing. I have heard of people who stayed in remission. Unfortunately I didn't but I wasn't your typical case anyway. I'm keeping good thoughts that you will remain in remission! Keep up the good health! Yipee!!!!!

Well my endo says it depends on the lab that does the bloodwork as to what "normal" levels are. They are all pretty similar though. My TSH initially was .007 and now they have been roughly .946-1.10 which he says is perfect. My T4 was 1.9 and is now 1.1 and he says that is fine also. They mainly only focus on my tsh levels. My eyes get better everyday yet I still look like a bullfrog but at least I can see and all the pressure is gone. I plan to have decomp surgery in 3 months once all the steroids are out of my system. I believe the radiation was my savior but some say its just a coincidence..whatever the reason I am thankful! I pray you find success soon!
