I just got word that my t3 and t4 are elevating again, I've been on methimazole for 130 days, 20 days ago 50 mgs increase.
Now dr wants to raise to 60mgs but these side effects are ruining my life. My T3 wnet from 506 to 256 20 days ago, yesterday labs came back to 375.
Is your doctor having the Free T4 checked? The MMI (Methimazole) is a T4 med. It will not work on the T3.
What works on the T3 is taking a beta blocker which stops the T4 converting into T3.

Thank you for your labs. We need to have the lab reference ranges to go along with the labs done. Most every lab companies have their own ranges.

Can you also list other thyroid labs done in the last few months so we can see a pattern happening?

I hope you are doing okay. I have never seen a T3 so high. (But what do I know, I am not a doctor) Are you being careful with your diet? Are you seeing an Endocrinologist? Poppycat, I wish I could give you all the right information to lower your numbers to the normal range. Mine weren’t so high (compared to yours) to start with. My uptake scan had me at 74% where the radiologist wanted my to do the ablation of the thyroid - I refused. I was taking 1om methimazole for 1 month and then reduced to 5m (just recently) My labs went into the normal range but my T.S.H. Is still very low .01 BTW, if I can be of support, let me know.
