What did the organic meat factory do to get rid of the worms and the infections from these animals?

I don't work now and haven't since early 1996. My RA makes it impossible to do this.

Hey Malbers...Im holding a regular job. I work 4 days on and 4 days off. On the days that I work I work a split shift. 3:45 am - 8:30 am and then again at 2:45pm - 7:15pm What I really like about it is I get to rest during the day and when my shift is over I get 4 days off so it seems like a little holiday. Since Ive gotten graves I cant do the things I used to. I always said I could break eggs with a stick ( Im not really sure what that means...lol ) My employer knows what is going on with me and is okay with my taking my time and doing my job in a more relaxed manner. It takes me a bit longer but thats okay. I took 4 months off work when first diagnosed but my medical UI ran out and had to go back to work. That was really funny because I didnt know that it would end I thought I could get an extention. When I went to apply for it they told me "nope..no more for you..its gone" I said " but my disease isnt " and they basically said.. too bad. So I phoned my employer and said I can come back but just part time, so he offered me $2 an hour more to come back on this shift, so I did and its worked out great.

I work full time still - 5 days, 40 hours/week. I'm training to be a chef, so that means I get to do all the cooking, lifting and moving of cases and pans of food.

I have no other choice. If I don't work, I have no insurance.

I, thankfully, have a great set of co-workers and bosses that helped me through some rough patches (where I couldn't even DO my job physically or even mentally due to both the GD and a reaction to the methimazole) so I could keep it.

Now, since I am able, I'm helping the same co-workers out as they are having health issues.

I won't lie and say it's been easy. I eat a lot of Advil and Aleve to get through some days. I carry a notebook so I don't forget things. I have to do what I have to do to get by ;/

I work full-time as a sheriff's deputy on patrol. We rotate days and nights every two weeks. The first week is 5 days and the next week is 2, 12 hour days. It's not too bad, especially the week I only have to work the 2 days. I know this job is stressful and all but it's in my blood and I told myself that I was not going to let Graves destroy my dreams.

Whew! Glad I went vegan! That sounds terrible!!!! (I still eat chicken every once in awhile, but I don't think I will now.)

I got diagnosed with Graves' in the middle of my Ph.D. program, and I'm still in school, working in the research lab and teaching undergraduates, but it hasn't been easy.

My boss has not been understanding or helpful, and our normal working environment is hostile for everyone. Everyday, someone breaks down in tears. But, if I can get through this, and with Graves no less...I'll be darn well bullet proof for the rest of my life. Throw me your worst, world!

Hi! I only work part time, always have. I am a supervisor for a cleaning company.Imagine running up and down stairs with the beginnings of Graves!I I was angry,weak and my pulse looked like it was going to shoot out my wrist. I used to let the girls feel it. The symptoms came and went before I got treatment with meds. I have neck pain since all this started though.I was told by a neurologist and a chiropractic doc that I have a pinched nerve.It seemed to come on about 3 months after I started meds. It could very well be a side effect too. (Muscle and nerve irritation ) ,who knows? Since my levels are good now, it seems to have gotten much better.I only work 4 days a week, but it's very physical, The other girls don't let me carry vacuums or pick up heavy stuff. I've spent a lot of money getting well with the neck thing!! I've been there 19 years!

I havent been working since a little before being diagnosed. I was so tired and I couldnt understand why. Then found out. Now I want to get a part time job and I am afraid because I have been out of work so long!! But My Hubby says that with receptionist/secretary work its ok to have time away, because as long as you know what you're doing it doesnt matter.

I havent worked since 2002... My husband does pretty good at working & he wanted me home with my daughter who was 2 at the time.. by the time she took off to school (2004) I was preg... lol. so Still no work... and now I have an ALMOST 3 year old.. so still no work...

I TRIED to work at tacobell (my favorite fast food rest. to work at) & even though I took a pt job Just for "fun" & something to do... I couldnt. I would come home crying.. he made me quit. said it wasnt worth it for me to be in so much pain.

Of course we had no idea at that time I had graves.. (I believe that was in 04... I found out about being H.T. in 05)

So that is where I am... I dont work... I cant do hardly anything without crying.. it hurts too bad. I have other issues but my regular doctor wont do anything about anything else until I get rid of my Thyroid (Now known graves d. ) issue... THEN we will "Work" on the rest...

Oh and nope not on dissabilty.. I tried to get my doctor to put me on it once for my back (I cant stand or sit for too long without my whole lower half going numb..) He said he wouldnt unless I 1. lost weight and 2. got some shot in my spine which I wont do...


So that is us... sorry to ramble.

I work fulltime graveyard shift. I was working fulltime when I was Dx (diagnosed) with gd. I am a registered nurse and it can be very stressful at times. Before I was Dx, I thought my job was causing my symptoms, only I didn't know they were symptoms. I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't handle the stress of my job. I switched to a desk/office job with a lot less stress and figured out it was me and not my job. I saw a psychiatrist for my crazies, and found out I have graves. I began treatment and immediately went back to my old job, right where I belong. I can't say my sypmtoms affected my performance at work, but I was very mean at home, couldn't sleep, was OCD/suspicious/anxious/depressed/nuts! My husband and I laugh about it now.

I work I am self employeed I own my own cleaning Co. I employee only my Mother at this time. Work 3or 4 days a week. Its about 4 hrs a day. But I gotta tell you its HARD work for all the 4 hrs. Its about all I can do and take care of handicapp husband and run a 13 year old around to class, activities. Etc.
So yes I do work I am a wife and a Mother.

I work 6 days a week from July- December as a Registered Taxation Agent (Accountant) from home and then from January- June as a Computer Technician...also doing 'on the road ' maintenance of red light speeding cameras (motherboards) so pretty much on the go.
I cut down my workload by half last year and didnt work weekends at all due to Graves.
I also took 4 months off as got pretty sick.
But am now back to the computers and also taxation.
Finding it tiring after not putting the 'mental energy' in for a while but gettting back into the swing of things each day.
I am happy as my clients know of my condition and are working 'around me' which is good.
Al lin all...balancing out nicely.
I was offered another contract to do 750 speed road signs (motherboards) but declined as it would be taking on too much.
Taxation year here ends in June so had my treatment jof RAI just in time.
Its good to be back 'functioning' properly as I started to have a low self esteem, no confidence and realistlcally felt my life was 'over' and had resigned myself to the fact that Graves took it over.
NOW I feel ...Graves wont take EVERYTHING away from me.
