Ideally an ATD (antithyroid drug) is best taken daily, at least twice a day, to keep thyroid steady and stable. If you get a good pill cutter with a thin razor blade, then cutting down to 1.25 mg take per day (two 0.625 mg each) would be helpful.
Since we have Graves' Disease, it means that thyroid antibodies are positive and will affect how the TSH will go. It means that whenever we become too hypER or too hypO, the TSH goes up and down from this and the thyroid antibodies also goes up. Once we have thyroid levels of the Free Ts in the 'right' places where we feel our best there at within the normal Free Ts ranges (for some people anywhere in the mid ranges to the upper third ranges) the antibodies begins dropping.
The thyroid antibodies to look out for would be the TSI and the TRAb (or TBII).
Elaine Moore's book should have a section on the dietary/environmental triggers and further explanations on how to keep things nice and steady all the way around.
