Today I recieved a phone call from a cousin of two of my grandchildren. I have custody of one and joint legal custody with visitation of the other who lives with an aunt and uncle in another state. I was told by all involved that any future hearings would be held in my state. This cousin told me that the aunt and uncle have filed in their state to have my visitation terminated. I thought we got along good and I never varied from the court orders. They have been mentioning wanting less visits because of the distance, they are supposted to meet me halfway. I told them it didn't bother me. Both parents are incarcerated and the aunt is the bio dads sister. My daughter is the mother. Anyhow the aunt told the cousin that since the baby had lived in their state she was a resident there. I don't know what to do. It is just one thing after another. I thought everything was OK on that front but now we are at it again. I want to talk to a lawyer ,not that I can afford it. What are these bios thinking to have these kids and leave us to pick up the pieces.
