This time they covered subjects that everyone felt was very useful and educational.

They had a Dr who is working on the effects of alcohol and drugs on children at UCLA. It was very interesting and had a lot of information and treatments like the book "The Mystery of risk" written by Ia J. Chasnoff, M.D talked about.

At the end of her lecture she stated that they at UCLA are doing studies and they were looking for children in certain age groups. One of them is for 0-1yrs old so I signed up for my grandson. I am not sure yet what it all in tales but I will find out once they call me.

All in all it was worth taking off work to go...

That does sound very interesting. The study of the fetus is becoming more and more popular. I can't think of the medical term for it. Dr. Ira Chasnoff is incredibly interesting. I wish I could go to a weekly group with that doctor. Keep us in the loop about the study your GS will be in.

Was your grandchild from a mother who drank or did drugs? That's why we are raising our grandson because the mother's mother drank when she was prego with her and then put her in a crib. She tries very hard but just can't grasp life in general so they couldn't raise their child.

Yes, my GS's mother drank, druged, smoked every minute and had a very poor diet (she has a eating disorder).
I haven't heard back for the lady who did the workshop regarding the study...I think I will email her to let her know that we would consider her study for my gs. I just don't want any drugs involved.

My gs is doing very well...he is happy and growing like a weed. However; damage doesn't show up until later.
