Thank you for the info. I think that is pretty common with usernames on forums. That's why you shouldn't use one that is similar to an email addy. Or you'll get spammed. lol.

Many companies have tracing cookies. Some really major ones and sites as well. I have my cookies deleted every time I shut off my computer. Not that that helps all that much, but....

It's part of this online world. I HATE this invasion of privacy and how it is just ACCEPTED as allowable! :(

Another little "trick" I have is to use a username that is popular. One of my usernames is Countrygal. If I google it, my username is so lost in the pile I don't know if I'd ever find it! ;) Only problem with this one is that the username is oftentimes taken. :(

Also as a side note if you google or search yahoo for grandparents raising grandchildren and your city your profile will pop up. mine did and I am leary to post much anymore for fear of being found.

Well, one thing I think we can pretty much rest in knowing is that our drug addicted children are probably not resourceful enough or even interested enough to look for this information. As for other people; maybe.

Anything you post o the net stays on the net! It is something to think about especially if you have a open court case!

It isn't this forum that allows that, if you run a email address you can usually come up with posts or emails too. There is a way to remove your emails from google but can't remember as it was quite some time ago that I did it.

If you pick a common user name it actually helps as any one looking would have to dig for your postings.
