We have been spending so much time and energy preparing for Fri court date when son will attempt to have our 'permanent guardianship' vacated. It's just such a pity that my husband, gd and I are losing so much of our family time, while all my son had to do was fill out some papers and wait it out. We are tired, stressed, annoyed, and all else. What a waste! Thanks for listening.

From my experience in the MA courts this can go one for a year or two if you contest it. My gds were with the maternal grandfather the first time xDil & maternal grandmother tried to get the girls back. It took 1 1/2 years before the girls were given back to the mother, one full year of clean drug tests. Then 14 months later they came to live with me when xDil was back to her old self.

my prayers go out to you. I wished I had words of wisdom I have not been taken to court yet by my daughter yet.

Seems like 9 times out of 10 the bios don't even end up showing up forthe court date......something, through no fault of their own of course, always prevents them from getting there.

Btw, does this mean he is asking for custody?
JanAndRob
He is asking the court to revoke our guardianship, which would then mean a return to him of gd. We also have a court date at end of May where he is charging us with contempt of court. Our guardianship papers have a place where the judge could have inserted some restrictions on contact with the parents, and judge put in words 'no restrictions'. That meant we would have full say of any contact. My son thinks it means we got guardianship, and then were going to just 'give her to them'. We all here know what guardianship means. We are responsible for her well being and safety. So, no way would we hand her over to heroin users. It's so absurd, but we still have to deal with it all.

You are doing a great thing here. They are so many children that need a advocate. You are the voice for your gd. Keep up the good work. The addict will always want to be the victim and their reality is always far from ours. I am sure the judge will see it that way. Maybe it will work to your favor. Think positive. I will pray for strength and internal peace for you and your husband.
