Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. The children were put into foster care a week ago today. I have started my test with the doctor. I spoke to the CW supervisor and explained this was a temp move, less than 24 hours later, CW said it's a permanent move. Stress #1 getting supervisor and CW on same verbal terminology.
Set up on move Tuesday: CW will be at our house at 3pm. Husband and I can load the truck and follow to Foster home with items and meet foster Parents.
Stress#2 CW calls an hour late wants us to meet at CPS building. Get there and CW says, items that can fit in her van can be taken. No we cannot know the location of children. We will meet parents some other time.
Conclusion #1: You dont get the kids if I don't meet the parents! So we went over to another CPS office farther away. Foster mother said no problem with us going over to house. CW didn't like the idea Foster Mother told CW she could go home. CW follows to Foster home.
Conclusion#2 CW told us we brought to much stuff and to take back baby items. Crib, High Chair, Car Seats.
Friday went to FCRB hearing. CW didn't submit case plan again. CW was on the phone instead of showing up. CW said children were doing fine.
FCRB asked me: I said I have been in touch with children and Foster mom, Baby wakes every 1-2 hours. They would not allow crib. GD has been removed from her school even though this was a temp move.
FCRB to CW: Get the crib over to FH and get GD back into her normal school per the law. ( in fact one of the panels shot the phone with her finger at the CW) The CW would not shut up!!!!!
Conclusion: FCRB told my daughter to get the CPS moved from my county over to hers ASAP. FCRB also recommended reunification to the judge.
Talking with Foster Mom previous to Friday, I made arrangements to pick the children up and visit for V-Days.
Stress#3 Get a call from Foster Mom on Sunday. She told me CW called her Saturday and advised I get supervised visits for one hour.
Conclusion: Call CW left VM asking for specific reason I am on a supervised restricted visit. Call CW Supervisor who answered her phone, and asked the same question. Supervisor told me she would see CW later in the afternoon, and CW will call me later that day or the next. Not even 15 minutes went by and I got a call from CW saying I have unsupervised visits but for only 2 hours and once a week. I think CW got an a$$ chewing!!!!
I called one of the local foster home agencies here in AZ and I'm getting ready to get my FH license. Yes...This will be a head banger to get these kids back, but I will get them back if it KILLS me!
As far as my health..... Don't know until I hear from the Doctor. Nuclear /Treadmill Stress test done on Thursday. Echo was done yesterday. My stress was validated by FCRB on friday...They heard and saw what I have been dealing with for a year and that's all I needed!

How are the kids adjusting? I feel very bad for them too. It must be hard on them to go through these changes and now be with strangers.

I gather from your last post and this they removed the children because of your health problems and waiting to see if you improve,.
Lets just hope for the best with your health for you can retain the children
Always give the children love and hugs and say only positive things to them. Let them know you are there for them.

My prayer is always that God will keep me away from the government, and the government away from me. LOL!
I hope everything works out for the best for the children!
I have called around to different foster care places and no one calls me back. They may need more spanish speaking foster homes not sure why no one has called me back.
Also, I have been thinking that I may want to see if we can change the foster care case to our county in hopes that I get child care funds and better SW visits that is not during working hours. I was told that because we have a case on file right now we can't do anything. Our next hearing is also April 6th this time we will be there. The last 2 hearing were for the bio's on what they need to do and the baby's lawyer said no need to attend. I am going to email the baby's lawyer and ask if we can attend the next hearing. We want to know what the Bio's have done and what is the next steps. Right now our status is a Relative Caregiver (babysitter).
I am glad that your not stressing...in the beginning of my grandson's placement I was so busy with so many things that were required I was in heavy stress. I also injured my neck and was in heavy pain they had done 3 injections in my neck & physical therapy everyother day. Now I go to physical therapy once a week I'm still in pain but I keep pushing on like you.

Monthly food, clothing and other assistance needed to raise or keep the children is made through the agencies to the state. Benefits will not be denied! The agency will have your back when issues arise with CPS.
I found no one was returning my phone calls either. The oagency I wanted to get into, I went on their web and filled out the requested form. I received a call that day.
