Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Join the support group to find support, share your experience, and get advice from other members.
I agree Jeannine, I feel that I have so much more patience and understanding now, just not the stamina.
I didn't know half of the things know now, and as a result I find that I don't sweat the small stuff the way younger parents tend to do. Helping with schoolwork (except math) is actually fun, because I get to share the things I've learned through the years. I know more about God now than I did in my 20 and 30s, and I find it more fulfilling to share that with the kids. And life lessons? There's no substitute for "hanging out" all these decades. I think we have so much more to offer.
Other than that I still wish my husband and I had more time for ourselves. HAHA
