TPR hearing in 2 weeks

we have been fully approved for adoption and the TPR hearing for dd is 3/21/12 and we have no address to serve her. She has been hiding from something for a couple months and is not disclosing to anyone where she iss staying. We have no contact with any "friends" and our messages to her have gone unreturned. I am really bummed that there is a possibility we may have to publish and that will prolong things another 3 months. the stress around here is thick enough already. We are hoping she will just not show up as is her history, but if she contests, even though she cant win, she can certainly bankrupt us just for spite.

Good thoughts coming your way!!!!! It has to be so hard to be so close and know she can still throw a wrench in to the works just out of spite. Hang in there!!!!

I hope everything works out just as you want it too and is finished quickly.

Would a private investigator be cheaper than an attorney? They're usually pretty good at tracking people, and may save you money and time...

My son and the bio mom were supposed to have rights termed in January. Same situation. She doesn't leave any forwarding addresses when she moves around, so they had to put an ad in the paper. New court date is Friday. We'll see what happens. I'm fortunate in that the State is taking care of all of it. I don't expect either of my GS's bios to try to fight it. They know it would be a losing battle. It's already been 3 years.

Prayerfully, as you said, she just won't show up and the judge will terminate automatically. What are the chances she'll read that in the paper? Probably slim to none.

Iwas afraid of this very same thing. She was TPR but had 30 days afterwards to change her mind and go for the appeal . She knew she wouldn't win and she wanted us to have them instead of going into a nonfamily members home, but still it was in the back of our minds if she would be spiteful. Good luck!I

I had similar...the TPR was delayed two times because of bio disappeared and the SW didn't do the paperwork on time.

Lucky for us the Judge got Ticked off and told the SW that she better get the mother serve by the next hearing. The SW found out that the bio mom was in the Mental hospital and she went and served her papers and she signed off her rights.

I know how stressing all of this can be. Even thou bio mom was crazy and never went to any court hearings the Judge still wanted to go by the law because it could come back to bite us all.
