Today was really hard. I feel beaten down little by little throughout the day. Sometimes I feel this way as soon as I open my eye's in the morning and that's horribly depressing. My grandson does not want to get along no matter who he's with. Sometimes I get so down I don't want to shower, walking my dog throguhout the day and doing housecleaning almost hurt. I feel like a failure, I feel inadaquate.
My grandson has been with his father for a year. After adopting him and having him for six years I let him go to his dad's. I knew it wouldn't be final but I let him do it because he wanted to so badly. It's a long story, to long to wirte about. I flew down and got him back. My 14 year old didn't want me to because my grandson can be so troublesome. I had to though. I made a promise to my grandson and the state of Calif that I would always take care of him. I love him to death.I'm 54 and the last few weeks i feel like a bad 70

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

The oldest of my GKs just turned 8 and has been with me since he was 6. His sisters were 3 and 8 months when they started living with me. They are currently awaiting a visit with their maternal family and the "Rubber Band Effect" is blowing me away. The maternal family is doing their trademark wishy wash and every delay in plans is bring out more and more of the dysfunctional coping mechanisms they used to cope with the circumstances that earned them a place in the foster care system to start with.
God, please grant me patience. NOW, goddammit! ! !

I'll be jigged if I know what is Right or Wrong for this mind-warping body of twists and turns. My mantra for getting through one round at a time is, "Let God lead the dance."
Something broke in all three of these children during that short and comparatively mild foster care experience. I don't know what, much less how to heal ^it^, but. . . I honestly believe I have no choice but to let God lead the healing dance, one step at a time.
Small steps, big faith and lots of prayer. . .
