I am raising my 15 year old grandaughter for the last 8 years and im tired and want to quit but she has no one else, ive done it on social security that isnt enough for me besides her, its not fair that the parents can walk away, but I feel like i couldnt live with my self if I walk away, I have lost all contact with my daughter over this and i feel so alone.

Gentle empathy, Abou. I am only in the 2nd year of my second parenting career and not feeling too okay with the prospect of parenting teenagers in my 80's. I miss being a real grandma who gets to provide great vacations and presents in moderated, parent-approved doses. I've taken to calling my 3 GKs, "my foster kids" because it better describes our current dynamics than the grandparent stereotypes. It cuts me to the quick to face the assumption that I will be delivering them back to the middle generation which is not there for any of us.

I keep hearing that GPs raising GKs is the fastest growing demographic in the industrial world. Why are we not finding one another? Why do we all feel so alone?

Hi I’ve been looking for other grandparents raising their grandchild on and off for the last few month and I came across your post and joined this group right away just so I could send my support to you and your Circumstance. I get it I live it !I live it! But I needed you to know that what your doing for your granddaughter is an act of unmeasurable love and kindness. I don’t know you but I am proud of you. You wake up everyday to raise a human being to cope with this broken world! You are giving her more then you could ever imagine. God is seeing all that you are doing it will not go Unrewarded.     Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol.
