We just had another nasty case like that in our local news. How these people can be so cruel and abusive to their own babies--and the system lets so much slide. A huge part of the problem here in Florida is the foster care system is so incredibly overburdened and underfunded. That's no excuse obviously, but I'm sure it contributes to the leniency of the courts. Outrageous.

Wow; that poor little boy............the only thing I can think is that I'm glad his suffering is over & he is in the arms of Jesus now. Sometimes, free will just sux.

The worst of it is that his family was more than willing to take him -- and apparently they'd actually HAD him for a while. Then this idiot judge hands him back to the bios. I hope the family sues the pants off the system.

That's just sick! We had the same thing here not to long ago in Arizona. The courts put these kids back into homes they need not be, but they look down at relatives who live day by day with these kids and who are doing a great job, but that's not good enough!

I don't think the judge can be sued. Pretty sure they're protected by federal laws. What could that judge have possibly been thinking, though? Why would ANY judge give 2 kids back to an abusive couple who have had SIX kids removed?? If the judge can't be sued, at the very least, they should be able to FIRE him/her, when the overwhelming evidence points to a VERY BAD decision made by the judge. Not to mention, WHY did the caseworker NOT notice how skinny and malnutritioned this kid was and WHY was the case closed after only 3 months given the extenuating circumstances? Sounds like alot of heads need to roll, in my opinion.

Let's see??? Would a crane operator be sued or fired for dropping a wrecking ball on a child & killing him/her? PROBABLY. Or would a teacher be sued or fired for pushing a child out in front of a car or bus? PROBABLY. Would a neonatal nurse be sued or fired for dropping a newborn on it's head? PROBABLY. What's the difference!!!!!!

I think if the Judge goes against the people that are assigned to protect him (CPS) then the he should be held accountable... at the VERY least be removed form the bench.

The other night at work I stumbled across a website that had far too many stories such as this. It's ImperfectParent. Itis very disturbing to see the stories on there. I was sickened but could hardly stop reading.

Part of the problem with our legal system is that the bios are expected to do so little to get reunification to happen. If they manage to complete their "service plan" the court has little choice. The Bios need to be required to really redeem themselves before anyone can be forced to give kids back.
