This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. Well things hit the fan big time yesterday.
My son and his girlfriend got into it. She came home to tell him she was leaving if he couldn't decide what or who he wanted, and he couldn't.
So then it got physical and I had to intervene on the girlfriend's part.
That is when my son turned his anger on me and pinned me to the wall and called me all kinds of names. ( I will let you choose the obscenity.)
Finally, they both calmed down, she got most of her stuff out of the house and left town with a friend. After a visit with the Early Head Start worker, son left the house saying he would be back later to get the baby,etc.
I have heard from him today but he has not been by the house to even see his daughter nor to help bring me things up from the basement for her. I am not surprised.
I am going to give him sometime to calm down and hopefully pull his head out, before going for emergency/temporary custody of the granddaughter for a few reasons.
BIO mom lives out of state so she isn't really in the picture. Like everyone else, the WIC is on hold for Nov & Dec. I just hope son will get me the formula with the October ones he has since my name is not on them.
So it is round 2 for us but this time with my son's child. That is okay, my husband's oldest is or has moved back to the general area today since she is loosing her youngest two children. So she will probably be a pain in my butt once again!

Your son should have been hauled off to jail for assault!!
Son has brought us some diapers & wipes form time to time. He has also showed up and watched his dd when I have had to work part of the time. He tries to make it to the appts for his dd. He did have to move her 6 mo old checkup with the dr. He does drop by from time to time to see her and spend a few minutes with her. All of which is good.
He is staying between friends since he can't stay here any more.
He is suppose to be trying to find work, but I doubt it. He is open to suggestions by the ladies that come to the house to check on his dd and to visit with us.
I don't know what is going to happen here in about 3 weeks but I guess I will deal with it when the times comes. The friend I have watching gd part time is going to start work so she won't be able to watch her any more for me. I am hoping son will step up and do it but not holding my breath.
