My 10 year old came home from school last Friday to tell me her teacher will no longer be with them the rest of the year... My 10 year old stated she was worried that there might be a health issue.
Friday night we received an e-mail from the teacher stating after four years of being bullied and harassed with no assistance from the superintendent, she will be taking a leave for the rest of the year. Come to find out all of room 8 parents received this e-mail.
Yesterday the principle called me asking if I could send her the e-mail. After a brief conversation with the principle, I was assured safety, and that my GD teacher did in deed take a leave. A letter from the school was sent home with the children explaining the change in teachers for the year.
Last night we received another e-mail from the former teacher telling us her e-mail account was removed even though she is still an employee, just wanted us to know what is going on. I tried to forward that e-mail to the principle and it was returned.
I told my GD that if she see's the old teacher to go in the other direction, I don't feel she is stable. My GD told me not to worry the old teacher doesn't have the keys to the school her new teacher must have them.
I took my GD to the school and to speak directly to the principle. While I'm waiting I ask the secretaries if they have received any e-mails. When they checked they stated no, not since 4:30- 5:00 yesterday. That is the time I received the e-mail from the the old teacher!!!!
I'm in the principles office and I'm telling her a new e-mail from the old teacher came out last night. I show her the e-mail and asked her to log on and see if she has any e-mails.( knowing she doesn't because my e-mail to her came back last night and the secretaries have none as well.) I explained to the principle that the old teacher hacked into there system and I'm feeling she is not stable.
I was told by the principle that the old teacher is mad at her and that she loves the kids in room 8. My reply was, she still feels in control of rm 8 and for everything you the principle try to do to prevent her from capturing her goal she will counter act. The principles reply was...I didn't think she was that smart on computers....My thought is My God she is a science major.! The principle called HR and reported the e-mail. Guess what she told me when she got of the phone? HR was going to send someone over to the teachers house and pick up the keys to the school!!!!
Anyone have any advice?!?!?!?

I read that most folks who go into teaching burn out at 7 years. She definitely sounds unhinged or maybe she is using drugs. Very strange.
It is up to the school to keep my child safe, I am not sure they are taking it as serious as I am. Again maybe due to working with unstable bios I am freaking out more than needed.
One thing I've thought of --the teacher claims to be harassed by her boss ---- it could be age discrimination. At my age I've seen it far too often. An employer wanting to get rid of older workers to save money so they can hire more employees at cheaper wages. Or maybe this teacher with age is ineffective and needs to retire ----- I've seen that as well. Folks who are just tired, old and burned out and need to retire, slow down and smell the roses.
