This vaccine has been tested and developed just like any other seasonal flu vaccine.
You will actually need 3 separate vaccines. 1 for the regular seasonal flu. 1 for the H1N1 and then a second one for the H1N1 3 weeks later.
This flu is horrible. It is affecting perfectly normal, healthy kids and adults in life threatening ways. For once the elderly are not affected by this particular strain.
I personally know of a 14 year old who went to the ER with a fever and cough for 2 days in June and is now on a ventilator and has a trach. He has permanent lung damage and is on a lung transplant list (if he lives that long). Again he was a very healthy young man with no previous heath issues. This stuff moves fast.
The vaccine is due out in October. Get it.
go to the CDC website this is current and this is what most health care providers are using as the guideline
As for Guardisil the jury is still out it is a different story and can wait
I have been hearing this flu is attacking pregnant women. My daughter grandson and husband are due to go to England to see his family. in couple weeks and they are hearing scary things from there. Is a worry to see them go. Is it worth using the old neosporin in the nose trick when flying on a plane?
You said that your gs is filthy everyday when you pick him up from daycare. Is this because they don't clean him up or is it because he is just a child and loves having fun playing and that is what he gets to do. I know families who think that there child got to dirty at daycare and quite taking them there. Our day care is clean and I see them cleaning and smell the cleaning every day so I know my gd is in good hands. She like washing her hands and they do a good job it teaching her how.
the single most important thing you can do is wash hands. With kids I teach them to sing the abc"s while they wash and then again when they rinse. If they are fast singers then sing it twice each time.
Also, buy the alcohol scrub and use it. Especially when you have been shopping....grocery cart handles, door handles, anything someone else touched after they sneezed or coughed on it or on their hands and then touched something. Wash their hands when they get in the car before they touch anything or better yet before they leave the store, inbetween stores, playgrounds, ...you get the picture any thing their little hands touch.....one of the biggest culprits is the doctors office waiting room.
