Did she go potty for you before? And can you think of anything that changed before she stopped? Is it #1 and #2 or just one of them?

Sounds like some sort of power play is going on...

my gd was doing the same thing. At school they changed her class to k3 class where most of the kids were potty trained and the teachers there had a cold turkey approach. I had tried everything...pull ups, rubber pants, sitting her on the potty for seems like an eternity nothing was working. So that weekend before she changed classes we decided to give it a shot. She had plenty of accidents so on monday I sent her to school with like 8 outfits in hand fully expecting to get a call to bring her more cloths but that night when she came home she was wearing the very outfit i put on her that morning. I couldn't believe it. She still had a few accidents here and there but from that day on she has been potty trained. Hope my story helps.

My 21/2 yr old goes to DC and has a few accidents once in awhile, but here he has a power issue and tells us after he poops or pees even when I have asked him to go. I did find his triggers and we are working on them, but it seems to have taken along time. In the morning I average 1/2 hour to an hour after breakfast for poop, and he tells me he has a belly ache on weekends when he is getting ready for poop. Peepee time I set the timer on for every hour, so I or he doesn't get caught up in the daily activities.

I wonder if it would work if you give him a little reward each time he goes in the potty.

She use to go (#1 & 2) potty when I suggested it, now she refuses and says "no." I give her a sticker each time she goes (like they do at her school). I guess it is time to just go cold turkey and put on her cute big girl undies. I'm definitely going to start during christmas break. Thanks and happy holidays to you all:) God bless.

I went cold turkey and he still had accedents. Just keep working with her. They use M&M's at school and we do here now, and it seemed to be working for awhile, then he gets use to the same reward and falls back, so maybe try to mix up the rewards. Remember I also had to find the triggers and remember them in order to know when he really has to go.

my pediatrician told me to take my GS and have him sit on the potty every time I did; even if he didn't go every time, and then I'd take him in between as well. His potty faced me, so I would make big funny faces when he would start to go, like as in being all excited about it, and then tell him what a good big boy he was, etc. She also told me not to let him fuss about it and if he did, tell him, "we don't fuss and cry when we sit on the potty", and not to put up with his nonsense (she's Asian and what most would consider "old fashioned") There were times I told him he could sit on the potty or sit in time out when he did try to raise a fuss. He usually chose sitting there looking at me over sitting in time out. Rarely had to even use that, though. Good luck!!!

I just did a little digging and found this good website. Apparently, potty training regression is common, especially at your granddaughter's age. Maybe that can help you feel better :-)
