Awesome! I wish my daughter would move 1,000 miles away. She hasn't been in my house for 6 days and my gd is thriving, content, truly happy. The minute my daughter walks in the door, we'll go three steps back with whining and crying from my gd for several days. Let's hope your sd stays gone for a long, long time.

The only thing that frosts me (literally) is that while we're stuck in 17 degree NJ weather, she'll be basking poolside in a luxury apartment in Sarasota, with her own room and bath. Free to come and go as she pleases, lie on Lido Beach, go to dinner at fancy restaurants with Mom, etc.

The unfairness just doesn't stop, does it?

She'll outstay her welcome quickly, based on her history.

Her mother said she would buy her a one-way ticket and send her back to our area if she uses again. I said "No!" just kick her out or buy a ticket to somewhere else. I'm really happy with the idea of her being gone.

Sara my sister lives in Fl, and the weather is cold, cold, cold so I don't think there will be bikini and beach chairs in her near future, lol

My sister said they have had ice on their plants and are freezing since they aren't used to this. Sis lives in Tampa/St Petersburg area, not sure how close that is to Lido beach but sis says the whole state is freezing........maybe that's a little dig, she goes to party on the beach and freezes her you know what off!!

She actually called to rave about the marble floors, tiled bath, "resort-like pool," etc. Do you believe the nerve????? Then in the next breath she's telling me she's so "appreciative" of everything we're doing for "her" kids.

I wanted to puke. I told her that of course we're doing everything, because we have put our entire lives on hold, maybe forever, to raise "her" kids. And that we don't have time to even look at resort-like anything.

Grrrrrr, it's a wonder I have teeth, she makes me grind them so much. EEEK!

I completely understand your total disdain for her stupidity - telling you about all of the wonderful accommodations, but seriously, these addicts do NOT think like we do. They are mentally stunted from all of the crap they've done. Their brains are most likely permanently altered. It's sad, it's sickening, and it's very humiliating when you're the parent of one of them - or two of them. I can relate to what you're saying. I'd just be glad she's away and out of your hair for as long a reprieve as you can possibly get. I probably wouldn't answer too many of her calls either.
