In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing . How are all the grandchildren and children doing ?
My three are having an ok week. Their mother was arrested in a car with 5 others for drugs and violating her release agreement from a previous incidence. The oldest wants her to do along stretch of jail time, he figures she might straighten out. My granddaughter (daughter now) was quite upset at first and now says she deserves it and she should go to jail for awhile. We are not allowing contact with between them until she gets her act together. Of coarse it was on the news and in the paper. I feel so bad for the kids . They have done nothing to deserve this. What is wrong with people putting their kids through so much , when they should just be kids and playing in a happy enviroment ...

My GD is doing pretty well too. She got a baby hamster a couple of weeks ago so she has a pet just for her. We also have 2 dogs. She wanted a kitty but I am very allergic.
I remember years ago reading a quote from Nikita Kruschev - the late Soviet Leader of the former Soviet Union....."We do not have to invade the United States, we will destroy you from within."
There is a grain of truth to that in how so many of our young people succumb to drug addiction destroying themselves and their families.
I am so sorry your grandchildren as well as you and your husband are having to deal with this. ((((HUGS))))
