I know that my daughter is a little old {20years old}to start a hope chest for but my mother,mother in law and I want to do it anyway.Her b'day is coming up soon and we can't afford a cedar chest so we are going to buy a large rubbermaid chest with a hinged lid for her to use for one.She already has several items to go in it[towels,a set of sheets,real silver wear and things like that but we would like some suggestion for other things that traditionally go in one and I thought some of you ladies especially the older ones might have some suggestions.We want to use b'days and Christmas and other holidays to help her buy the things that she will need when she gets married or moves out on her own.She is the only girl[besides my oldest daughter who has no contact with the family] in a family of 25 grandchildren so this will be more like a family project that even she can add to.She says that she is no hurry to marry or have children or even leave home for that matter right now but wants to some day in the distant future.We want to do something special for her because she is always so willing to help anyone with anything she can.I,myself don't know what I would do without her.I have been ill lately and she has almost completely taken over the care of the boys,cooking and the cleaning for me and never complains.She just this very sweet amazing person who we feel deserves the best of everythingbecause asks so little of the people she loves.She has a greatgrandmother 2sets of grandparents several uncles and aunts and of course me and my husband who all want to contribute something to her 'HOPE CHEST'so it won't take us long to fill it up.
