It's hard for me some days to keep my cheery attitude. I'm in pain 24/7. I've had several operations over the years that were suppose to fix my injuries but did not. Surgeons always said, "You'll be fine in 10-12 weeks." NOT. I've had trouble walking for 15 years. I've had two hip surgeries from a laberal tear of the hip socket from a lifting accident. It hurts to sit, stand, lay down, and walk. My little one doesn't understand that gramma cannot be his super hero playmate all the time. Even swinging him on the swings will put me down for a couple of days...but I have to keep going...taking him to school everyday, picking him up which requires a tremendous amount of walking to the portables in back of the school. Taking him to soccer practice, swimming, shopping etc.

Some days I'm not the nicest gramma in the world and feel really guilty about that. He's still insecure, though not nearly as bad as he was when his parents abandoned him. He needs constant reassurance that I love him. Asks for hugs every 30 minutes. I'm always having to tell him, "no, you can't sit on my leg, you can't body slam me, and I'm sorry but I can't play soccer with you. Some days I have to tell him I can't lift him up for a hug. His feelings get hurt and I don't know how to get around that. I do things with him that are less wear and tear on my body, and try keep up the cheery attitude that everything's okay. Some days I have to dig really deep for it.

I bought this house across from the park so he could have more fun than I'm able to give him. It has helped him a lot....and I watch him play...in pain. My injury isn't the kind that a hip replacement would solve I was told. Bones are good...cartilage and muscle are shredded. Anyone else have health issues?
