This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Our youngest daughter had a baby boy monday afternoon. 8 lbs 2 oz, 21 1/2 inches lomg. We are thrilled and so thankful that her and her husband are good parents and planned for him and are taking parenting seriously. He is blessed to be born to them.
Still my oldest was at teh hospital and this is gd mom (one we are raising). Bio was rocking new gs, cooing and all i could think is "what an act"
I dont want to think that about her, but its where my mind goes. And when I got hime from the hospital gd was acting like a 5 yar old, and cranky from a day at school and needed her needs met.
There was a point in the evening where I felt cheated and guilty. My energy was drained and I was angry at bio for not being a parent to this precious gd and then guilty that I could nto be a more fun and doting gramma to gd who lives with us and new gs.
Been fighting a sinus infection, hubby has an infection in his leg, we both work and raise a five year old and we are exhausted. :(
Dont mean to complain but know I can vent here.
Of course we are tickled for our youngest and so blessed with our new grandson.........but like alot of things theres a shadow over the celebration because our other daughter can't/wont parent and chooses drugs and men over a very special little girl.
A part of me is bitter......grandparents should not feel that:(

Last weekend I was so worn out from laundry, and baths, and making sandwiches and putting bandaids on boo boo...and I look at Biomoms Facebook and she is out partying like a rock star....

My oldest daughter resents that I am raising my gs...she knows that when she has her children it won't be fair that gs is taking all of our time.
gd graduated from kindergarden this week, i went to her track meet, and papa is home with h er as he is off thursdays and fridays....
a part of me still hopes/thinks bio mom will change......papa does not hold that hope out........
i thank god every day for my husband.......and both of these grandbabies.....im bitter and angry but gd is safe and loved and thriving......
