Can you talk with your stepfather? I wonder why he isn't doing anything. Does he even know what's going on?
I did try to make a report but they said that I couldnt because my parents wouldnt talk to them.I am thinking about fixing Mom's phone so that it records all calls. My police friend said that I could do that because I have power of atturney over my parents and he would help me get the equipment.
I strongly urge you to report it to CPS for the sake of the kids. They may be able to advise you how far you can use that POA.
This is so flipping horrible. How anyone could hurt their elderly parents is beyond me. When reading your post, it made me think of something. There is CPS for filing reports on abusive parents, so I also know that there is an Adult Protective Services. I would call them and find out if there is something that can be done.
It's a shame that your parents won't talk to anyone because if they did, they could protect the kids even more with reports on hand. On the other hand, if your sister did hurt your mom, it makes me wonder if she's done this before. Maybe explain to her in a gentle way that the next time she "falls" she may be hurt even worse, then what would happen to the kids. Did your sister end up getting the card from your mom when she went there? I agree with Sara though, can you talk to your stepfather?
Can you get back to your parents house and take pictures of your mom's bruises? This is so hard and my heart truly does break for the pain, suffering and fear your mom is going through. When I read this post, I started thinking about what I would do had someone ever hurt my mom before she died.
PLEASE keep us posted.
