My gd survived my night out w/o her!

After having a complete meltdown and panic attack two nights ago, just knowing I was actually going to leave her and go out with my sister in law, she woke up yesterday morning and I said do I need to have pop pop cancel your reservations? I'm still going out. She said no, but just don't talk about it anymore. So we didn't. We both got ready for our nights out apart. Pop pop said they had a great time and that she told him she pretended the whole time they were out, that I was at home asleep. I tell you, this was huge for her. She's 8 and it's al about me leaving her, not her leaving me. Like I said earlier, she goes to school and can go off with others (though not too many), but the thought of me leaving her at the house for even a minute triggers something deep. We are going to see her therapist Monday. I haven't been scheduling appointments regularly but am going to.

Out therapist came to us and asked if we could send our kids to camp. It is though the Christian Church very small group. 2kids to every 1 adult. only about 30 kids in all. They all have been removed from there home for one reason or another. We told her yes. (just the two older kids.) My gs said he didn't want to go because he was afraid that he wouldn't have a home to come back to. My asberger girl said she just didn't want to go because. I went ahead and sent them as I needed them to know that no matter what they would alway be able to come home here. Turned out that they loved it. Got new Nikes crocs and MP3 player and all new clothes from the camp. It really helped us out. Some people think we got a break but we still had a 3 year old at home. May as well have 3 as to just have 1 takes the same amount of time in the long run. Still no private time. But it was nicer.

Wow! That sounds like a great camp. I would be floating on cloud nine if mine could and then would go to something like that. I truly love hearing victory stories like this. Everything they go through and see that not only did the world not fall apart, but they actually had a positive experience, helps them be that much more healthier, courageous, trusting.. Yeah! Way to go!
When I got home last night we hugged and I said "Hey! We did it!" (She hasn't asked where we went - I'm glad she went to see "Peter Pan" because she's gonna be sooo jealous when she found out I went to Cirque du soliel! We watched a DVD of it about a month ago and we both thought it was awesome!
