I haven't been on in awhile. On the 13th of June I was waking up the kids to go on our West coast loop vacation when I received a call that my father pasted away. Needless to say, I headed to the East coast. Every day I have cried and I know this is normal, but man just one day I'd like to have dry eyes! My husband stayed home with the kids so I could drive out. I would have flown, but I have a brother in Origen who didn't have enough money for a ticket to the east. I picked him up at the airport and off we went. My Dad had a full Military funeral, which was nice. It was very hot there and when they went to do the 21 gun salute, one man fell to the ground due to the heat. My father didn't want a fuss and I think that was his way of saying 18 gun salute would be fine. My father was cremated and was suppose to be placed in with my mother who passed just two short years ago. Come to find out they were going to place him at her feet. That didn't sound right to me, so we used the extra plot next to her. Since we couldn't place Dad with Mother, after the service and everyone was gone we took some of my fathers ashes and with the song playing they so loved to sing to each other, all five of us kids sprinkled some of Dads ashes on top of Moms grave.. I know my parents are together again, I sure do miss them!

So sorry to hear of your loss. You are right that they are together. We don't get to the cemetery often for our daughter but I know she will always live in my heart.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I was just talking to a friend whose Mom died this weekend, the more we talk about those who have passed and share the good memories the closer it makes us feel to them.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It was a month yesterday, I kepted my mind busy by cleaning. When I first came home I felt my parents near, as the days have gone by, I'm not feeling the closeness as much and that's telling me they are moving on and I'm going to be alright. I've always been looked at as the strong one, but inside I'm really not. My siblings and children think I am and I guess they need me to be... When I'm alone the tears flow. I think my parents thought the same or maybe they knew more about me than I do or did and have confinance in me where I do not. because I don't feel them as close anymore and feel they have moved on, I have to trust in knowing they know I'm going to be just fine and I am strong.
