Mad about dd ebt

So my dd has a secret FB page that I check periodically. I see a post today about something a bit random and I look at the comments. Her friend is about to have a birthday and she proceeds to invite her over for a cookout "cause I get stamps Thursday."

Now she claims baby daddy (not my gd's father, this is her 8-month-old's father) makes good money, I know he pays child support for another child he has with someone else. I wonder if he's even listed as the father on the 8-month-old's birth certificate. How can she get assistance? I know she was receiving ebt for my gd when she left our home, she took the card with her to Ohio. We tried to report her to public aid, we called and emailed...not much of a reply. We told them we have legal custody of our gd and they said they cannot tell us anything about what my dd receives, even if she has left Indiana? I though, gee can't you see where she's using the ebt card?

I think I'm just venting! We have not received one dime from my dd or my gd's father. They only were ordered to pay because the judge said they needed to, we did not ask for support. He ordered $25 a week from each. The estimate they now owe us $5K combined. Not one penny, dd only sent clothes 3 times in 2 years.

She probably doesn't list his income . My dd does he same thing, when I filed for child only tanf they were supposed to remove gd from her food stamps . Just having custody isn't enough it seems. When I told them I have custody, they said yeah but is she with you ? Duh , has been for almost 2 years..wish they'd put her on child support, just to document she doesn't pay. But here they figure if bio isn't making any money, too much trouble to go to court since they figure she needs 700 to live. So as long as she doesn't have job, no cs.

Our gd's mom lives in subsidized housing 2 bdrm apt, pays 200+ a month, regular rent is 1400. Food stamps 500+. Gd with us, and 8 year old daughter is with her bio dad, and here's the kicker: Mom still collects child support from 8 year old's dad thru state collection! Go figure. I dont have the energy or the interest to get involved with this nonsense. What goes around comes around....

You touched a nerve. We have a family that is on public aid and gets free food, health care, and minimal rent in a nice neighborhood because the owners want the diversity. Ok fine. However, the live in boyfriend has been intimidating everyone else in the building (only four units). He just got out of jail again, is not on lease and accuses everyone of picking on them. Police will do nothing. Property Manager protects them.....you know the routine. I have learned quite a bit about the system and it's not good. Your dd is probably selling the stamps for cash so they will not see that she is spending stamps in another state. They've got the system locked down good.

So who's the smart ones? Us or them? In our case, husband and I always worked (he had no kids), and of course always paid our fair share into the system that these 'kids' (and in our case they are not kids, they are 30) are abusing. My son earned over 75k last year. We do have an order instituted by state to collect child support from both (and she is driving a Mercedes SUV to her waitress job, I love it) and it will be retroactive back to last Oct. State is very slow, but that is ok w us, as son is doing even better this year in, of all things, car sales! When he was 5 years old, my mother said 'he is either going to be a lawyer or a car salesman". He can talk a dog off a meat wagon. Old expression, whatever a meat wagon is!!! My best to all of us.

Oh, Jeeze, don't get me started.

We're raising Pinky's three kids - have been for going on 10 years. SHE gets the subsidized apartment. SHE gets the food stamps. SHE gets the cadillac healthcare. SHE gets the cash assistance. And every five years her doctor claims that she's bipolar, so she gets ANOTHER five years.

And on my Facebook page all I see is people whining and moaning that we have to give out MORE entitlements.

I've gotten just a tad cynical.

Oh, and I forgot to add that SHE gets all sorts of money, gifts, vacations, etc. from her chain of ATM boyfriends.

My blood is boiling now from thinking about it -- gotta go. LOL

Thank you all for your reply. If nothing else, we're not alone. Just so said they are able to get away with this nonsense!
